ISTQB Advanced (CTAL-AT v2.0) Mock Exam #3
This is the third of our full-length practice exams for the ISTQB Certified Tester Advanced Level Agile Tester (CTAL-AT) v2.0 syllabus, released in April 2026. It reproduces the official exam format exactly: 40 questions worth 52 points in total, 90 minutes, and 34 points needed to pass (65.4%). Scoring is weighted the way the real exam weights it — a K2 question is worth 1 point, a K3 question 2 points and a K4 question 3 points — so a strong result on the six K3 and three K4 questions matters far more than the question count suggests. There are no K1 questions in this syllabus. The questions follow the official distribution across all six chapters: 5 questions from Test Strategy and Test Approach Challenges, 5 from People and Teams, 7 from Test Management and Test Process Improvement (11 points, including both K4 questions of that chapter), 9 from Shift Left (11 points, including two K3 questions on user story slicing), 12 from Agile Approaches and Test Techniques (18 points — the heaviest chapter, with one K4 and four K3 questions), and 2 from Test Automation and Test Tools. The scenarios in this mock run through a travel-booking platform built over a legacy reservation core, a smart-metering and billing product, a sports video-streaming service preparing for a tournament with a fixed date, and a government benefits portal serving claimants across four channels. The recurring themes are the test approach challenges a legacy system creates inside Agile delivery, a delivery team distributed across three time zones, testing quadrants under peak load and a hard deadline, metrics-driven test process improvement, exploratory test tours and test smells. Every answer option — correct and incorrect alike — carries its own rationale, and every question has an overall explanation, so a wrong answer tells you which misconception to fix rather than just that you missed a point.

What this mock covers
This paper draws 40 questions from 6 chapters of the ISTQB CTAL-AT v2.0 syllabus. The split below is read from the questions bound to this mock, so it is the paper you will actually sit rather than a target.

Scoring is weighted: 40 questions are worth 52 points, because a question at a higher cognitive level counts for more. Revise the heavier chapters first.
Cognitive levels in this mock
Each of the 40 questions is mapped to a syllabus cognitive level - K1 recall, K2 comprehension, K3 application, K4 analysis. A paper heavy on K3 asks you to apply a technique, not to name it.
- K2 - Understand31 (78%)
- K3 - Apply6 (15%)
- K4 - Analyse3 (8%)
Practise one chapter at a time
If this mock exposes a weak chapter, drill that chapter on its own before sitting another full paper.
