ISTQB Advanced (CTAL-AT v2.0) Mock Exam #4
Mock exam 4 follows the official CTAL-AT v2.0 structure exactly: 40 questions spread over the six syllabus chapters as 5, 5, 7, 9, 12 and 2, worth 52 points in total, with 34 points needed to pass and 90 minutes on the clock. Scoring is weighted, so each of the six K3 questions counts two points and each of the three K4 questions counts three. This paper deliberately works the corners of the syllabus that mocks 1 to 3 left alone: the incremental and collaborative regression approaches, communities of practice, risk-storming and release readiness assessments, Value Stream Mapping, the scenario and constraints dimensions of user story slicing, generic checklists such as Nielsen's usability heuristics, the less familiar test tour districts, and the test smells that rarely get asked. Every answer option carries a written rationale.

What this mock covers
This paper draws 40 questions from 6 chapters of the ISTQB CTAL-AT v2.0 syllabus. The split below is read from the questions bound to this mock, so it is the paper you will actually sit rather than a target.
| Chapter | Questions | Share | Points |
|---|---|---|---|
| Chapter 1 · Test Strategy and Test Approach Challenges | 5 | 13% | 5 |
| Chapter 2 · People and Teams | 5 | 13% | 5 |

Scoring is weighted: 40 questions are worth 52 points, because a question at a higher cognitive level counts for more. Revise the heavier chapters first.
Cognitive levels in this mock
Each of the 40 questions is mapped to a syllabus cognitive level - K1 recall, K2 comprehension, K3 application, K4 analysis. A paper heavy on K3 asks you to apply a technique, not to name it.
- K2 - Understand31 (78%)
- K3 - Apply6 (15%)
- K4 - Analyse3 (8%)
Practise one chapter at a time
If this mock exposes a weak chapter, drill that chapter on its own before sitting another full paper.
