The ISTQB Security Test Engineer certification (v1.0.1) — the 2025 successor to the old CT-SEC syllabus, focused on actually performing security testing. Nine chapters: security paradigms, security test techniques, the security test process, standards and best practices, adapting security testing to the organizational context and to SDLC models, security testing within an ISMS, reporting results, and tools. Exam: 40 questions, 43 points, 28 to pass (65%), 75 minutes. Only CTFL is required — no prior security certification or work experience.
