Chapter 6 is the shortest in the syllabus: what test tools support, and the benefits and risks of test automation. Two of forty points, both K1 or K2.

Treat it accordingly. An evening is enough, and time taken from chapter 4 to memorise tool taxonomies is time spent buying two points at the price of eleven. Practise here to secure the two, then leave.

What the questions actually test:

• Risks, not just benefits — unrealistic expectations, underestimated maintenance effort, over-reliance on the tool, and the effort of introducing it. Questions favour the risk side because candidates only revise the benefits.

• Automation does not improve tests — it executes existing tests faster and more repeatably. An option claiming a tool finds more defects by itself is the distractor.

• Match the tool to the activity — management and traceability, static analysis, test design and data preparation, execution and coverage, performance, DevOps and collaboration. You need the mapping, not vendor names.
